šŸ„³ā€œThe Lucky Onesā€šŸ„³ | Jack and Tim performed their own original song called ā€œThe Lucky Ones. Jack explained that the song is ā€œabout how lucky we are to have what we have.

Who Are They?

Jack was 12 years old and Tim was 43 years old — a father and son duo who came to the BGT stage armed with their acoustic guitars.

The Song

Jack and Tim performed their own original song called ā€œThe Lucky Ones. Jack explained that the song is ā€œabout how lucky we are to have what we have.

The Performance

Both father and son played acoustic guitars and sang gorgeous duet vocals. Tim sang the first verse, showing a delicate folk vocal style and putting a lot of heart into the words.
The big moment came when dad and son sang the chorus together, and hearing their voices join as one simply hit you in the chest. Jack then stole the show with his lead vocal after the chorus, which showcased a wide range and was so sweet and pure.
You could see in the judges’ eyes as they watched the audition that Jack and Tim had won them over.

The Golden Buzzer Moment

After the applause died down, Simon Cowell didn’t hesitate and said, ā€œTim, Jack – this says it allā€ — and hit the Golden Buzzer, sending them straight to the live shows.
Simon described the performance as ā€œjust so fantastic, so pure, so great.ā€

Judges’ Reactions

David Walliams said it made a big impact on him as a father himself, stating: ā€œIt was just wonderful to see a father and son with a very special connection do this beautiful performance together.ā€
Alesha Dixon heaped praise on the duo, saying: ā€œI’m so happy for you. You’re by far the coolest father and son act that we’ve ever had. I can’t wait to hear more and see you in the live round.ā€
Their Journey Beyond the Audition
Jack and Tim came back in the semi-finals with another original song called ā€œBig Wide World.ā€Ā  David remarked it was ā€œVery, very braveā€ of them to come out and do another original song, and Amanda said she believed Jack had ā€œstar quality.ā€ They won the judges’ vote with three votes — from Simon, Amanda, and Alesha — going through to the Grand Final.
In the Final, they sang ā€œThe Lucky Onesā€ again — the same song from their audition. Simon said it ā€œbrought back so many amazing memoriesā€ from the day he first met them, and David called it ā€œa beautiful thingā€ to witness.
